Ed-jam-ucation: Henry holds a Bachelor of Music (Percussion) and a Minor in Jazz Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz and is currently in his last semester of a Master of Music in Contemporary Improvisation at The New England Conservatory of Music. Starting with piano lessons at age 5, Henry has continued his endeavors as a student of music to this day. He performed in all sorts of ensembles including Jazz Combos, Orchestras and other small groups throughout his high school and college careers and spends his summers soaking up masterclasses and performing at festivals.
How Henry JAMS with you: Henry’s diverse background in teaching private music lessons, being a summer camp counselor and teaching at after school programs informs and inspires his instruction. He brings this diverse background in learning, performing, and teaching music with him into his lessons and classes. As a teacher, Henry believes his number one job is to help students find the drive, passion and dedication necessary to pursue an art form like music. Through this journey he hopes his students will learn the power of self discipline and perseverance that can be applied to any endeavor in life, far beyond music.
